Bike Ride to Deer Island
Sunday, July 20, 2014

Every year things change, usually for the better, as we tour the bikeways of Charlestown,
Everett, Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, and Winthrop. New people teach us more about the areas
through which we pass, and we all learn more about the world we live in. One goal of this ride
is to see the underside of Boston, where our food and heating oil come from, and where our waste
goes. Another is to see the beauty in even the grungiest places, and to see the work that is
needed to keep the places we already see as beautiful the way we expect them to be.
