2003 WBOS EarthFest

The 10th Annual WBOS EarthFest is April 26th at the MDC Hatch Shell and this year's event is very exciting because Sheryl Crow is the headliner and she is joined by Alice Peacock, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, Peter Wolf, Nickel Creek and Sister Hazel. This year we are very excited to have Bread and Circus Whole Foods Market as our presenting sponsor; they will help raise the bar on this event and are incorporating some incredible concepts/exhibits/displays etc into this event.

This year, we are having a Family Area directly behind the Hatch Shell and will feature concerts from Dan Zanes and Friends at 10:30am and the Boston Cast of Stomp (now playing at the Stuart St. Playhouse) at approximately 1:30pm. Please let people know about this special 10:30am family concert; it should be terrific-Dan is one of the most highly regarded new family entertainers around so gather the young ones and come on down!

As part of the family activities, the Boston Breakers women's soccer team will host two soccer clinics that morning (Sat. April 26th) from 10-10:30 or 11-11:30. The Breakers will have two players running each of the fun sessions open to the public at the Boston Breakers tent. To reserve a spot e-mail EarthfestClinic@bostonbreakers.com. You can also show up 15-20 minutes before the clinic session starts (if space permits). No equipment is necessary, but proper footwear is required. Players will also be available after each session for autographs and photos.

Of course, we'll have great exhibits, displays and food samplings all day long including our Action and Activism tent manned by folks from MassPirg, CleanWater Action, EarthDay Network and more. Each of these groups will have their own booths as well, joining dozens of other exhibitors including Greyhound Friends (of course).

And Bread and Circus is working with MassEnergy to power the entire concert through the purchase of green energy credits --essentially powering the concert by renewable energy generated by the windmill in Hull.

MassBike will once again have their FREE Bike Valet service

And VH-1 will be filming their Top 20 Countdown live from the concert
