This class combines classroom and video instruction with on-bicycle
practice. The course develops skills and builds confidence by starting with
parking lot practice, then moving to quiet streets, and finally busier roads.
No knowledge beyond balancing and steering on a bicycle is required. For
ages 13 and up, but students under 16 need parent's permission to enroll.
You'll learn to:
ride confidently in traffic,
make sure your bicycle fits,
conduct a safety check,
fix a flat tire,
avoid road hazards,
prevent crashes and falls,
make emergency maneuvers,
understand your rights and responsibilities, and
enjoy cycling.
What to bring to class:
a bicycle in good working condition,
a helmet,
a lock
rain gear and sunscreen (classes held rain or shine), and
lunch or lunch money.

Students who successfully complete written and on-road
evaluations receive a certificate.
