Winter 1999 Bicycle Repair Classes in Massachusetts

Winter is a good time to learn how to keep your bike in shape. Classes are being offered in (eastern) Massachusetts during January, February, and March of 1999. There is a fee for most of these.

Basic Bike Maintenance Course for Adults: Mondays 7:00 - 9:30 PM, December 28 through January 25; Bicycle Recycling and Youth Training Center, 59 Amory St. #103, Roxbury, MA 02119; Course cost is $75 for 5 classes. Prepayment required.; Bikes Not Bombs has professional mechanics teaching the basic to the intricate. You work on your own bike. We provide all the tools, bike stands, and lubricants. The classes are designed for adults.
Wheel Building Course for Adults: Mondays 7:30 - 9:30 PM, February 8, February 22, and March 1; Bicycle Recycling and Youth Training Center, 59 Amory St. #103, Roxbury, MA 02119; Course cost is $60 for 3 classes. Prepayment required. We will take up to 5 people.; Learn to build your own wheel from scratch. You bring your own parts (or you can purchase them from us).
Girls in Action! Program for Girls 9-13 Years Old: Tuesdays 3:30 - 6:30 PM, January 5 through March 9; Bicycle Recycling and Youth Training Center, 59 Amory St. #103, Roxbury, MA 02119; Join the girls' group this Winter in a theatre arts program where you will engage in creative-movement and voice exercises, threatre games, and journal entries, while learning the basic tools of the actor and building strong friendships through theatre work. The girls' group will continue to meet in the Spring, when they will resume their regular bike adventures.; Space is limited. Call Marma Ortiz-Reyes at (617) 442-0004 to register.
