Boston Bikes Summit Tours Sunday, October 21, 2007
Emerald Necklace and Southwest Corridor Tour This ride was organized for the Boston Bikes Summit so there would be
at least some biking involved. We were lucky to
have Ken Kruckemeyer, who worked on the Southwest Corridor and is still
involved in transportation planning, fill us in on its history.

Mother Brook Tour Saturday, October 17, 2007 10:00 am Bajko Rink Parking Lot, Stony Brook Reservation
On this 15-mile ride sponsored by the Boston Natural Areas Network
and MassBike's Metro Boston chapter, we'll tour Mother Brook, the oldest
industrial canal in North America. A tributary of the Neponset River,
its headwaters were connected to the Charles River in Dedham in 1650,
and the additional volume was used to power some of the earliest mills
in Massachusetts.
