2002 Past Massachusetts Bicycle Events
- Annual CRW New Year's Day Ride
- Tuesday, January 1, 11:00 am in Boston Common at the intersection
of Park Street and Tremont Street
- What better way is there to clear the mind and body in the crisp,
clear air of downtown Boston as it once was - before the internal
combustion engines took over. We will visit many interesting sights
from Charlestown to Castle Island, and maybe Dorchester Heights. Start
the New Year off right with friends old and new. See you on the Common!
- Retire the Legal Fees Party
- Monday, March 25 at the Cycle Loft, 28 Cambridge Street, Burlington MA
- Scott Jenney was arrested in the spring of 2001 and accused of
"disorderly conduct" while riding his bicycle to work. After hearing the
prosecution's case, the presiding judge dismissed the case outright.
Jenney incurred legal fees of $5,000, and while it's time to celebrate,
there are still the outstanding legal bills. Jenney's attorney
has offered to donate to MassBike all the moneys raised at the party to
be used in efforts in the areas of police education and Share the Road
initiatives.
- The suggested donation is $20 at the door, and there will be door prizes.
- For more information, contact Tim Baldwin at MassBike,
Bikexec@massbike.org.
